As the mobile industry continues to grow in various directions, staple apps like Siri become increasingly flexible and available to broader audiences.

Developed for Apple’s OS platform, Siri is the intelligent personal assistant that comes with every newer generation of the iPhone. First appearing on the iOS 5 platform, supported by the iPhone 4S, Siri has expanded its presence, now available on the iPad generations as well.

Apple had big news recently when it announced that seven international languages would be added to Siri capabilities. The app was already able to understand multiple languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Italian, and Japanese, also American, UK and Australian English.

With the new updates, Russian, Danish, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Thai, Swedish and English for India have been added to Siri’s list of languages.

Apple’s iOS 8.3, which includes these language additions, is still in beta, therefore most users will not yet be able to access the new features. However, it seems likely that the new languages will very soon be available to the broader public.
